GREG SIEBERT
Community Innovation Fellow
gregsiebert@berkeley.edu

Greg is a second year graduate student in the Department of City and Regional Planning. After graduating from the University of California at Davis with a degree in economics in 1998 he moved to San Francisco. Still in San Francisco today, Greg has worked with a variety of local non-profits to better the City he has come to love. Much of his work has been in the area of transportation and ensuring transportation alternatives. Through work with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition he has been able to explore both advocacy and planning together and promote a mode that often seems neglected or at the very least undervalued. He is presently working with the City of Albany to implement a comprehensive Safe Routes to School program and integrate that program and process with the development of the City’s first Pedestrian Master Plan. Greg also has a strong interest in the link between housing and transportation as well as the adequate provision of affordable housing. He hopes to explore different ways of providing more affordable housing and you can be sure that many potential homebuyers in the Bay Area wish him luck.
